This is a headline you may have encountered in the last couple of days, as data emerged from National Family Health Survey.

It is a reliable enough survey, with a large sample size, and a reputation for rigour in the public health world.

Headline writers have since been falling over themselves to find the most interesting bit of stats from the survey to get us to click. We would of course expect nothing less.

Some have focused on the data line that indicates that income levels do not predict number of sex partners, and orders on the finding that rural populations seem to have more partners outside marriages.

We will be writing more about the data that has emerged, after due analysis by our team, but it is quite clear that these are all significant findings.
