Very refreshing to hear a Bollywood superstar be so, well, 'sex positive.' Mostly the principle of separation of public and private lives is deployed by celebrities to avoid even saying the word, 'sex.'

Also wonderful that it is not a young one. When Kapoor speaks it is not only to Millennials, but instead to people in their forties, fifties and even sixties. The impact has to be significant.

That the mention came in response to three things that make him feel younger, and the answer, in triplicate ("sex, sex, sex,") makes for the most stirring endorsement for sex possible.

It is indeed odd that sex needs an endorsement, given its widespread primal appeal. However culturally conversations about sex are taboo, and guilt around enjoying it is almost a universal phenomenon. In a nutshell, liberating sex from guilt is the essence of the sex-positivity movement.

This column hopes that other celebrities-across age groups-will take notice and follow suit in public utterances.
