In the Ayurvedic discipline, the intent of food is explained with the word mahabhaisajya, also meaning the superior medicine. This not only highlights the importance of food itself, but also attaches to it certain medicinal qualities possessing the ability to heal ailments, dysfunctions and infections among all individuals alike. Panch Mahabhutas are considered as the 5 elements that food essentially contains. There are: fire, space, water, air and earth. Moreover, aahar has an element of choice in it, but it should be in accordance with an individual’s constitutional personality or prakriti. Just as there are pathya food habits that benefit the body and mind, conversely apathya food habits do damage and produce diseases. The best kind of foods are those that maintain the fine balance of the tridosha or 3 humors of the body known as Vata, Kapha and Pitta.

Let’s quickly give you Misters some great Pathya aahar that are beneficial for you, sexually and otherwise.

Firstly, let’s talk about milk. Let me just be clear, when Ayurveda speaks of milk, it is automatically synonymous with cow’s milk. Given as much importance as a lactating mother’s milk, it has special vata and pitta balancing properties. Serving as a natural aphrodisiac, it increases sexual stamina and semen in males, enhancing their virility. Its guru or heavy potency provides one with a wholesome feeling upon consuming it and its balya property naturally increases strength in an individual.

Urad dal also known as black gram is another natural aphrodisiac lauded with vata balancing properties. Research in the field of Ayurveda points towards most sexual dysfunctions occuring due to an imbalanced vata dosha, so it’s sort of self-explanatory how this food ingredient is beneficial for you. Known for its mutral or diuretic property working in tandem with its usha or hot property, Urad dal is a great laxative that keeps digestive health intact and eradicates toxins from the body by flushing them out of your excretory system.
