We have to talk about sports because so much is happening all around us. The World Test Championship final might be decided by all the rain, but the India-England series is already upon us. Euro 2021 is well underway and we are all quite committed by now to which team we would like to go all the way, and on the tennis front we have just about recovered from the epic French Open final, but it is already time to take our calls on Wimbledon (not that we are expected the Federer followers to be spending much time on that call.)

So, in a nutshell, it is all happening.

Came across a very interesting study published in 1998 in Physiol Behav, by Bernhardt et al, that investigated testosterone levels among men based on whether the team that they support won or lost a key sporting contest. Must say that the number of men investigated was not too high, but it is so much fun that we thought it good to share.

Now in this study they found that mean testosterone levels increased among fans of the teams that won, and decreased among fans of the team that lost! That's how seriously men take their sports. The outcomes seem to be more than psychological.

And given that we are all in the middle of this intense sports action, it might be a good time for you to take a look at how you are doing. Here is the clinically established Ageing Male Symptoms (AMS) questionnaire that indexed your experience on 17 signs of ageing that are linked to a decline in testosterone. And what's more you get to see how you are doing on each of those parameters compared to other men who have taken the quiz.
