Ayurvedic science has been speaking of building, strengthening and boosting immunity long before Corona virus or COVID-19 came into the picture. It is no surprise that discussions regarding immunity have once again, been brought to the forefront owing to the current situation. The AYUSH Ministry of India (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy recently cleared a well known Ayurvedic herb, Giloy, for medical trials in the wake of the virus. Trials have already begun for individuals stationed at high risk areas. Coming to drinks, a Giloy concoction is proven to help boost immunity and is best consumed by following the steps below: Boil a finger-long stem of Giloy in two glasses of water. Watch the water reduce to about half its size and drink while it is still warm. One glass a day should do the trick. A concoction enhancing the nutritional value of Giloy is taken with 2 inches of ginger, 3-4 Tulsi leaves, 1 finger long Giloy stem, two black peppers and 2 corn. Once a day and half a glass is the recommended dosage for this.

Having said this, it is imperative to know that Ayurveda and its subsequent results take longer than allopathic medicines to present themselves. Be patient. No matter the disease, discomfort or affliction, do not self medicate. Even though recommended dosage exists, consult an Ayurvedic practitioner or a specialist before long-term treatment, even if its herbal.
