Defence watchers usually don’t have such exciting stories. This story around American pilots sketching out a penis shaped flight path pointing at a Russian base in Syria, is quite the opposite of the reading between the lines that defence analysts typically do.

The USAF has clarified that it was unintentional and the pilots who were up to this phallic tomfoolery are still not grounded.

Strangely it is not a first for the vaunted Air Force. Pilots have been up to similar sketches over Arizona and Washington State.

We see this as confirmation of the old adage, “give a man the ability to depict a penis, and the man will depict a penis.”
