It is not uncommon for men to have problems with erections at some point in their lives. But for millions, erectile dysfunction, or impotence, is a growing problem. It is no longer limited to older men with underlying health conditions like Parkinson’s disease. Erectile dysfunction is the inability to attain or maintain an erection sufficient for penetration and satisfactory lovemaking. The condition affects over 50 per cent of Indian men older than 40 years of age and 10% of those aged below 40.

Erectile dysfunction can also have a significant emotional effect on any relationship. About 20 to 30 per cent of marriages are breaking in India for want of satisfaction in sexual life. Apart from heart diseases, diabetes and chronic kidney disease, unhealthy habits like excessive smoking and drinking, lack of exercise and stress could lead to erectile dysfunction or make it worse.

The effect of erectile dysfunction on a man’s masculinity can be significant and can affect his confidence and self-esteem. And this makes him extraordinarily resistant to reveal any information that he is not functioning at the supreme level. Impotence is still such a taboo subject that men are too embarrassed to admit it and shy away from talking about it with friends, wives or even a doctor. Many suffer in silence and accept the situation, thinking that their sexual life will never be the same as before. But there is cure available at all ages.

Since it's all about blood flow (penile erection occurs when the penis fills with blood), one needs sufficient blood supply to the penis to sustain an erection.

Tadalafil, a phosphodiesterase 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, works to treat erectile dysfunction by increasing blood flow to the penis, enabling a harder, longer-lasting erection during sexual stimulation. Tadalafil, marketed worldwide under the brand name Cialis, is one of the most popular erectile dysfunction drugs. The drug comes in low-dose versions that can be taken daily. The starting dose for daily-use Cialis is 2.5 mg. If that doesn't work, you can increase your daily dose up to 5 mg. Its primary appeal is that the effects of Cialis last longer than the effects of Viagra, generally up to 36 hours. This means you may be able to attain an erection with the help of Cialis throughout the 36 hours, allowing for more spontaneous sexual activity. Cialis promises to turbocharge lovemaking, and the wonder pill is transforming  many sex lives and relationships.

What's more, it only takes an hour or two to kick in. But, it is essential to remember that Cialis only works if you are sexually aroused. It doesn’t solve a troubled relationship or create a desire that isn’t there. There’s more good news: Cialis could be used to cure heart failure, according to new research. The drug was found to slow and even reverse the progression of the condition in sheep by researchers at the University of Manchester. However, a word of caution here. Men taking Cialis for daily use can experience a worrisome drop in blood pressure if they drink too much.
